Designated Broker Course Requirements:

Program Duration & Approval:

• A 50-hour course approved by the Maine Real Estate Commission.
  Meets criteria for obtaining a Maine Broker real estate license and qualifying to serve as a Designated Broker.
• Accredited for 18 clock hours of CE for Broker and Designated Broker license renewals.
  
  

Course Format:

• Blended learning approach.
  Self-paced online modules, including videos, audio clips, animations, knowledge checks, case studies, and scored quizzes.
  Live workshops either in-person or via Livestream.
  Less than 20 hours of in-person or Livestream seat time, including the Final Exam.
  No textbook required.
  No "state" or "national" exams post-course completion.
  Access to a provided student workbook for the duration of the course.
  
  

Assessment:

• Final Exam proctored by the instructor.
  Administered at the end of the last workshop or as scheduled.
  
  

Eligibility for Course Enrollment:

• Must have held an Associate Broker license, affiliated with a real estate brokerage agency for 2 years within the 5 years immediately preceding the license application date.
  The 2 years of experience don't need to be consecutive but must fall within the 5-year period before application.
  Secure a minimum final grade of 75% in the Designated Broker Course.
  The Course Completion Certificate, required for the license application, remains valid for up to 1 year from the course's conclusion.
